Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Armenia! We will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel, where you can rest and have prepare for the rest of the day. After you’ve had some rest, we will go for a walk in the downtown and show you around. We will have a lunch in the downtown and head to Garni – the only remaining pagan temple not far away from Yerevan. We will have a short walk around the temple and see some beautiful natural wonders. On our way back to Yerevan we will stop by Charentsi Kamar viewing point and enjoy the view of the sun setting behind the biblical mount Ararat.

Day 2

We leave Yerevan early in the morning heading towards lake Sevan, the largest lake in Armenia situated on an altitude of 1900 meters above the sea level. In order to see the lake with all its might and beauty we will climb on mount Artanish (2461m a.s.l. / elevation gain~560 m) where we we can take some great shots of the lake and the surrounding landscape. After the hike, we will head further east and stay at a boutique hotel on the shores of Sevan Lake, where you can have a delicious dinner and a enjoy the sunset over Sevan.

Day 3

Starts the part of the tour, where we establish our base in Dilijan- a small town located in a National Park bearing the same name. We start our journey early from the hotel in Tsapatagh and head to a 13th century monastery tucked in the lush forests of Dilijan National Park. Afterwards, we get back into our car and drive to Lastiver, the hightlight of the day! A magical forest in the mountains where we will start a 3 hour hike to the Lastiver forest and waterfalls. After the hike we come back to Dilijan, have a dinner and rest.

Day 4

Another day for a two-section hike in the Dilijan National Park. We will start our hike at Parz Lake and head along the Transcaucasian Trail towards Goshavank Monastery, located in the Gosh village. After we rich our first intermediate destination, we will have some free time to visit the monastery or walk inside the village or just to have a rest. After the rest we continue our hike towards another lake tucked in the forest. This time it is the pristine Gosh lake, located about 5 km away from the village. After a small rest by the lake we head to the nearby village where our car will take us back to our hotel for a relaxing evening before leaving Dilijan.

Day 5

The longest stretch of our journey begins in the morning, when we leave our hotel in Dilijan and drive through some beautiful landscapes in the north of Armenia, where the climate is mild and alpine meadows dominate the landscape. We will spend the day doing sightseeing and visiting various historical and cultural monuments such as the Haghpat Monastery- a 13th century monastery enlisted in UNSECO World Heritage list. Our journey will end in Odzun- one of Armenia’s largest villages, where we will stay at a hospitable family-run bed and breakfast.

Day 6

From Odzun we will drive to Stepanavan, a small town located in the north of Armenia. Upon the arrival we will start our hike towards the ruins of Lori Berd fortress-a beautiful hike along mesmerizing landscapes and breathtaking views. After a short break we will continue towards Gyulagarak village, where we will stay at another family-run bed and breakfast.

Day 7

A 230km ride back to the capital of Armenia, where we will have a full day before the departure. We will have some free time in the city with optional walking tours and museum visits. We will end the day in a nice and relaxing setting in one of Yerevan’s hip venues. A car will take you back to the airport 2 hours prior to your flight.
